Ralph Chicorel (1955) avidly collected comic books as a kid, and this boyhood hobby recently paid off handsomely when his well-cared for collection sold at auction for more than $500,000!
Neville Mur's (1958) play The Last Fifth of the 20th Century was given a reading by Women in Theatre, a Los Angeles based group.
Nick Cassavetes (1980) directed and co-wrote the screenplay for My Sister's Keeper, the feature film starring Cameron Diaz, opening in theatres this month.
Johanna Day (1984) has been cast in two projects for the O'Neill Theatre Playwrights Conference: The Language Archive and The Color of Desire.
Deana Duncan (1983) is performing in the play Franklin and Figaro at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, located outside of Seattle.
William Fichtner
William Fichtner (1980) will play NY District Attorney Frank Crenshaw in the feature film Date Night, which stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey.
Peter Gajdics (1984) won a memoir contest through the literary magazine, Opium. In late summer, The New York Tyrant, a literary magazine based in New York, will be publishing an excerpt from his forthcoming book, Crossing Styx: a Memoir of Survival.
Joanna Going
Joanna Going (1985) has a lead role in the feature film Tree of Life with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. Earlier this year she starred in the Hallmark Channel's Chasing a Dream.
Tyrone Henderson (1983) will star in Gutenberg! The Musical! at the Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca, NY.
Annabella Sciorra
Annabella Sciorra (1980) stars in the new Fox series Mental.
Paul Tirone (1989) is a producing partner at NW3 Films.
Page Clements (1990) is a voice and dialect coach and a founding member of the touring company Highwire. Page was recently selected by the readers of Backstage as their favorite voice and dialect coach.
Storm Large
Storm Large (1990) is currently starring in her original musical Crazy Enough at Portland Center Stage where it has been extended three times. The Portland Area Musical Theatre Awards gave the show several honors, including outstanding performance by a female actor.
Racheal McCaig's (1993) play, Nursery School Musical, will be performed in Toronto this September.
Katherine Moennig
Katherine Moennig (1998) co-stars in the feature film Everybody's Fine with Robert De Niro, Melissa Leo and Drew Barrymore.
Blake Robbins (1993) was recently seen as Jim's older brother on The Office, and will be seen on the big screen this summer in The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler. Blake and his wife are the proud parents of a new baby and their third child, son Cooper.
Paul Rudd (1991) has a cameo in the feature film Year One.Hank Azaria (Summer) plays Abraham in the film.
Kevin Sanders (1991) published his first novel, Misguided Love.
Adam Scott (1993) co-stars in the feature film Piranha 3-D and he continues to work on the television series Party Down.
Kathy Searle
Kathy Searle (1990) has three films coming out this year: Three Backyards with AADA alum Elias Koteas (1983),The Good Guy, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and Peoples.
Nadia Valenzuela (1998) is teaching musical theatre for the Rialto (CA) Unified School District.
Lucas Beck (2002) is currently at work on the feature film The Devil's Racecourse.
Angelle Buffet (2008) was in South Coast Rep's production of You, Nero earlier this year.
Massimo Dobrovic (2005) is living in Rome where he is pursuing acting roles.
Sasha Higgins (2006) is in the feature film The Rain Chronicles opposite Richard Lynch and the late David Carradine.
Leslie Ivarson (2008) was featured in the Backstage column "Who Booked the Part?" discussing her role in a Columbia University student film.
John Holloway (2008), Mia Romero (2008) and Elspeth Turner (2008) were in a staged reading of the new play With the Sound Off at the Dramatists Guild in NYC.
Mindy Leanse (2009), Maria Niora (2008) and Andrew Philpot (2008) were in the new play CoCo and Gigi at the theatre Under St. Mark's in NYC.
Steve Sliker (2003) recently graduated with a BS degree in sports broadcasting journalism from the University of Missouri. He is currently living in Arizona with his new wife, Heather Lytle.
Elspeth Turner (2008) and Michael Henrici (2008) were in a production of Macbeth at the Queens Players Theatre in Queens, NY. Elspeth also understudied the roles of both Pigeon sisters for a production of The Odd Couple at the John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport, NY.
Mary de Liagre, a long time member of the board of trustees, passed way earlier this month. Originally from Independence, Kansas, Ms. De Liagre performed with her twin sisters in the Ziegfeld Follies and was featured in the Broadway revue Life Begins at 8:40 with Bert Lahr. She made her way to Hollywood, where she was put under contract at MGM by Louis B. Mayer and had featured roles in several films including Abe Lincoln in Illinois, Billy the Kid and Riders of the Purple Sage among numerous others. During WWII she helped organize the USO in Los Angeles and visited hospitals and service camps. In 1945 she moved to New York and married producer Alfred de Liagre who predeceased her in 1987. She retired from show business to raise her children and became a founding member of Recording for the Blind and served on the board of the Princess Grace Foundation. She is survived by her son, daughter and grandson.
Kenneth Russell (2008) died on June 23rd as the result of a cab accident in New York City. Kenneth, who was working as an actor and model, is survived by his parents Russell and Soozie Forkey of Boca Raton, FL.
