The American Academy of Dramatic Arts Patron Program — Supporting the next generation of gifted young actors...

As the oldest acting school in the English-speaking world, founded 1884, the history of the Academy is both long and prestigious. As a group, Academy Alumni have been nominated for 95 Oscars®, 236 Emmys® and 83 Tonys® and the list grows.

While the craft of acting and how it is taught has changed over the past 125 years, one goal has remained constant at our acting school in New York and for 35 years at our campus in Los Angeles, founded in 1974: to identify the most gifted students and provide them with the necessary tools for a long and productive career.

Today, the influence of Academy Alumni continues to be felt, not only in the acting community, but by the entire entertainment industry as Academy Alums enjoy success as directors, playwrights, producers and agents.
