Los Angeles Student Housing Suggestion/Other Information

The Academy, being in the heart of Hollywood, allows students to seek housing not only nearby, but in the many surrounding areas which are only a short commute away. These include Burbank, Glendale, Studio City, Los Feliz, North Hollywood and others. With the new red line of the Metro Rail now operating between Hollywood (closest station is at Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Ave.) and the West Valley (with current stations in Universal City and North Hollywood) even students without cars may be able to look for housing outside of the local Hollywood area and still find fairly quick travel to and from the Academy.

Apartment managers usually require previous address and length of residency. Most require bank account numbers and both employer and character references. Bring traveler's checks or money orders. Recently, many of our foreign students have found Washington Mutual Bank one of the easier banking institutions which to establish an account.
Last, but not least, allow yourself TIME to find housing (most students arrive in California and start looking for housing at least two weeks prior to the start of classes).
