TRANSPORTATION / Getting Around New York City

AADA New York: 800-463-8990
120 Madison Avenue, New York, NY  10016

Because of the size and congestion of New York City, most of New Yorkers get around the city via the vast network of public transportation run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York.

Subways and buses cover all of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. Metro-North, Long Island Railroad, and Amtrak have trains connecting Manhattan to the tri-state area and beyond through Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station.

The closest Subway stops to reach AADA:

33rd Street-- Park Avenue South
34th St.- Penn Station, 8th Ave.
34th St. - Penn Station, 7th Ave.
34th St.- Herald Sq., Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.)
34th St. - Herald Sq., Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.)

One of New York City's great assets is its walkability. Much of Manhattan is laid out like a grid — uptown/downtown streets intersect with crosstown streets, making it easy to navigate. Streets ascend in number as they run north. For example: If you're at 14th Street and your destination is 50th Street, you'll be going uptown (to get to midtown).

Also, don't forget the famous New York City Taxicabs are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
