Associate Director of Financial Aid, AADA, Los Angeles

The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, a nationally recognized acting conservatory in Los Angeles, seeks an Associate Financial Aid Director, to assist the Financial Aid Director in the operational and fiscal administration of our two-person F/A office. This position is responsible for timely and customer-oriented service to students and compliance with regulations pertaining to the administration and awarding of financial aid funds.

Responsibilities include awarding, and monitoring of federal, state and institutional grants, scholarships, loan and work-study funds; ensuring compliance, appropriate reporting and record-keeping for financial aid agencies; responding to audits; developing policies, procedures, forms, informational documents, and other communications. This position works closely with the Admissions Department to facilitate student enrollment, and with the Business Office to ensure timely and accurate student financial data.

The Associate Director must have an in-depth knowledge of all Financial Aid requirements and regulations, as well as experience working in a busy office. S/he must demonstrate a strong ability to make independent judgments, self-direct the work flow, and work with the Director to organize and prioritize in order to meet deadlines. We are seeking a customer-service oriented, hands-on employee who enjoys working with developing artists.

Requirements:

  • Excellent oral, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Associate's degree and 2-3 years of experience in Financial Aid
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of Campus Vue software is desirable
